How Can low Red Blood Cell Count Be Treated?

Good afternoon. Yesterday I went to my family Dr. That has been monitoring for quiet sometime and he thinks its best to send me to a hemotologist because I cant get my red blood count up. He said it was severely low. Is there any input that you have as to what to expect?

Hi,

In the case of low red blood cells, iron deficiency anemia should be ruled out. So hemoglobin value and HCT also need to be checked. You can revert back with full CBC report. According to cause specific treatment given.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Parth Goswami, General & Family Physician
